Nice Temple with a peaceful ambience. One of the priest is also a head cook for kitchen & happens to be from ongole, AP, India. He along with several devotee volunteers assist in kitchen to make everyday prasadan & on Saturday / Sunday - they make & serve delicious South Indian items like idli / dosa / wada / Etc.

Truly multicultural temple I have seen so far. They have hoards of activities planned and place beams with the energy of people who visit. Loved going here. You can have Sunday lunches, there are Hindi classes, you can buy Tulsi plant, participate in Aarti. Sharing pictures of notice boards to help fellow Indian community.

Hindu temple of Shawnee mission is a great place to experience community and Indian atmosphere. Every Sunday they usually have aarti at 12 pm followed by prasad. A great place to visit lot of Indian people. The temple part is very beautiful and accessible for wheelchair as well. There is plenty of space for shoes and coats. They have many events going on so be sure to check out their website for upcoming events.

I have been a volunteer for over 2 years in this temple. The priest's are friendly and are greatly helpful. I have earned the friendship of numerous Indians through my volunteering here. There are several festivals that are celebrated with total religious fervor. Brahmotsavam celebrated in May, Jagannath Rath Yarra in June, Ganesh Chaturthi, Ram Navami, Janmashtami, Navarathri, Shivrathri, Diwali are some of the festivals celebrated. There is a Balvihar with more than 50 students. The temple had 2 halls with kitchens that can be rented.

Nice, peaceful, spacious, neat, hygienically maintained with shoes n overcoats keeping room, hand wash area, restrooms & plenty of parking space. The Pujari (Priest) is very good, knowledgeable, crisp soft spoken & helpful.

Overall had a very pleasant experience visiting the temple. Coming from a big city Chicago, this temple was a change of pace (size😄) - smaller, very clean and very well maintained. Was a little disconcerting needing to "register" my entire family and names but I understand during the pandemic they have to do what is required to keep everyone safe. Website said that prior registration was required and I have to pick a time slot but we just took a chance and went there - didn't have any issues getting inside and we had a good darshan and in the end came back with fruits and offerings (always a good omen 😄) and gives you peace of mind. And thanks to the temple management for doing a great job taking temperature and doing everything they can to keep us devotees healthy. Sundays you get food. All in all a good experience.
