One of the best state parks in GA👍. The staffs and hosts are so friendly and supportive. The campground is super clean and super well maintained, bathrooms and laundry rooms have nothing to complain. I know it’s the youngest in the state, but still very impressed with its beauty and all family friendly features for all ages. We camped here for 5 days, enjoyed hiking, biking and boating and more, love this wonderful place so much and already added it on my revisiting list for near future.

Wow this is a hidden gem. It’s beautiful and clean. The trails are easy to walk some of them have pavement. The bathrooms are clean and they have ac and heater as well. We found a place near the trail facing the lake and we decided lay back and listen to nature. I hope everyone does their part of picking up after themselves. We need to conserve our beautiful nature. I will definitely be coming back.

Definitely a beautiful place to visit. Dog friendly, with the exception of the beach and swimming areas where you can’t bring your dog but I think is fair and positive. I saw a lot of picnic tables everywhere around, under shadow, lots of trees so you can really relax and stay cool. They have picnic shelters that you can reserve, free picnic tables, tent sites and RV sites, also cottages to rent. $200 a night for a cottage I think is expensive but when I saw the pictures I can see why, they are really big cottages and very pretty. But anyways, $20 for a primitive camping site is good so we’ll be back to do that. They have bathrooms, showers in the beach area, emergency phone, a vending machine, and at the visitor center you can purchase wood, ice, drinks, snacks, souvenir, apparel and books… also extra bathrooms at visitor center. We loved it.

I absolutely love this park. It's so peaceful and beautiful and it's usually quiet and not that busy at all. There are lovely walking paths, both paved and dirt, along the main park areas and throughout the woods. I take my dogs here all the time and they love it as well. The playgrounds and facilities are really clean and the whole place is well maintained. Definitely worth a visit!

Wonderful park! Very clean. Playground still under construction but the kids were able to use what wasn't roped off. The campground is very nice, large enough for us with a 37' 5th wheel. We had a spot right next to the lake, so we had a lake view for the winter. I'm summer you won't see the lake but if you walk down the trail next to our site it leads to a floating dock with a nice view! Staff at check in were very nice and helpful. Trails are very nice and if you take the woodland loop you'll pass a little gnome village that people add to. Can't wait to camp here again.

Great place to stretch you legs through walking, hiking or biking. Me up with the grandparents for a sunny afternoon stroll on the most resent visit. We have also camped here in the past the regular campground is good, but the walk-in sites are fantastic! Come and enjoy!

Awesome state park. $5 for parking, but it's a very pretty place. The beach is a nice, safe place to hang out with the family. Clean facilities, attentive staff, and plenty of posted information make this a park that is easily enjoyable by all. Will definitely be back.

Took our first camper trip there and it was a great. The campsite was very clean and a great view. The camp host I believe his name was Cliff but he and his wife were awesome. They answered all my questions and helped me with whatever I needed. The bathrooms were super clean. Will definitely be going back.

The ride into Don Carter State Park is nice. Feels like you are out of the big city and slowed down a notch or two. Before we left I had a peek at a YouTube video someone took of this camp ground. We were on slot 44 it fits a 43' 5th wheel. However if someone is in slot 43 you will have to back in. It's a weird layout of the park but it really is clean. The people there are extremely nice and helpful. I know I will be back soon. Slot #1 is perfect because it sits alone and bathroom across from it. Who could resist the sunsets. If I had to rate from 1-10 10 being the best. I would give it an 8.5 only because of parking
